Other Ways to Give

AniMEALS Pet Food Program

Our AniMEALS program helps provide pet food and basic vet care for our meal recipients' pet companions.  Pets provide comfort and companionship to seniors who live alone or are socially isolated.  It is often difficult for seniors to grocery shop or get heavy bags or cans of pet food into their homes. Thanks to pet-loving donors, we can provide pet food and vouchers for rabies vaccinations, wellness checks, and grooming when needed.

Please note "pets" in the memo line of your check or online donation.

*Funds that are donated for senior meals are never used to provide food or vet care for pets.

Planned Giving

If you would like to include Meals on Wheels Rowan in your estate planning, please consult a professional who will assist you.  Feel free to have them contact Meals on Wheels for specific questions.

In addition to monetary gifts, you can leave stock, real estate, insurance policies, personal property, an IRA, or the assets from a pension plan to a non-profit charity. There are many options, no matter the size of your estate.

Bequests

A charitable bequest is a simple and meaningful way to support Meals on Wheels Rowan through your will or estate plan. Your legacy gift will make a lasting impact on the lives of seniors in our community.

When you include a cash bequest in your will or trust, you designate a specific dollar amount to Meals on Wheels Rowan, which will be received upon your passing.  Your gift will directly support the programs that provide nutritious food and support for seniors in Rowan County.

A property bequest is a gift of tangible or intangible assets, such as real estate, stocks, vehicles, or personal belongings. These gifts can provide significant support while potentially offering tax benefits to your estate. Upon your passing, the Board of Directors will determine the best use of these assets to support our mission.

Giving through your retirement plan is a simple and tax-efficient way to support Meals on Wheels Rowan. You can designate Meals on Wheels Rowan as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), Keogh, tax-sheltered annuity, qualified pension, or profit-sharing plan upon your death.

To make a retirement plan gift, simply update your beneficiary designation through your plan administration. Your gift will have a lasting impact on seniors in Rowan County.

Meals on Wheels Rowan is given a bequest only if your primary beneficiary is unable to inherit. This ensures that your assets are distributed according to your wishes, even if circumstances change.

A contingent bequest provides flexibility while ensuring your legacy continues to make a difference in the community.
